A Tisch-ket a Tashket

Weekends out East are groaning with events—charitable ones, artistic ones, family-oriented ones. So, it’s always a compelling invite when especially charming hosts offer all three.

This past weekend, Lizzie Tisch, founder of LTD, an experiential style venture that focuses on designer collaborations, welcomed friends to a fabulous fest, beginning with a dinner at her glam Bridgehampton digs. Pals including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa and Jane Krakowski tucked into her terrace to dine and view the eclectic mix of carefully edited, often exclusive wearables and art pieces.

The guest of honor was Ashley Longshore, the designer behind the new Bergdorf’s café. The artist is known for her clever and risqué art pieces that spout such pearls as “You don’t look fat-you look crazy” (also the title of her book), ‘There is no crying at Bergdorf Goodman,” “Eat the cake and button your pants under your belly like a real woman!” and “Do not overdose, do not overstay your welcome, do not ovulate”—all overlaid on images of Abe, Winston, Freida, Anna and so on. The Times called her a ‘glittery, bawdy feminist’ who has mastered marketing on Instagram.

Her pieces lit up the property and made us smile and fist pump. There were other unique offerings, like Rachelle MacPherson’s Lingua Francas cashmere sweaters with yet more messages like “Everyday I’m hustlin’.”

I wasn’t the only parent to earn points by bringing my daughter to an event that she deemed hip. Fiona Rudin was there with son Nick, Laura Slatkin with Ali, and Robin Meltzer with Lizzie Meltzer Fine. And making all other husbands look bad, Jonathan Tisch was there, guiding us—”Sweaters this way, rosé there and waffles around the corner.”

Also milling, sipping and shopping: Cornelia Erklentz, Joseph Altuzarra, David Monn and Robert Verdi. The event benefitted The Retreat, which provides domestic violence and sexual assault services on Long Island.

Next up, travels with Lizzie—ideas, services and products to accompany you on your travels. Tally ho.
