Lizzie Tisch Launches LTD, An Experiential Style Venture

"Lizzie Tisch is no stranger to fashion. An entrepreneur and philanthropist, Tisch and her husband, Jonathan, supported fashion's most talked-about event, the Met Ball, for many years. Tisch previously ran Suite 1521, a successful business that hosted members-only trunk shows of high end designer clothing and accessories. She is also a member of Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed List’s Hall of Fame.

Tisch’s latest venture, LTD, has gone beyond just fashion to become an all-encompassing moment. Her launch in Bridgehampton on July 14 was based around one of Tisch’s favorite artists, Ashley Longshore. Much like Tisch, Longshore has an entrepreneurial spirit. She has been her own art dealer from day one, and built a healthy business based on hard work and connecting with people.

Longshore’s work was hung on hedges specifically trimmed for the event. Rachelle Hruska MacPherson’s Lingua Franca cashmere sweaters, adorned with sayings from Longshore’s paintings, were for sale, as well as crystals from Sea & Salt. Guests could have their makeup done by experts from Blushington.

Looking impeccably groomed in Mary Katranzou, Tisch spoke about her vision for her new venture.

What exactly is LTD?

LTD is an experiential style venture that will focus on exclusive, limited edition designer collaborations.

What made you want to start it?

I love the idea of bringing talented designers together – not just in ready-to-wear or accessories but in art, design and beauty. What shoppers really crave right now is a fabulous experience and a sense of community.

Who is your target?

Curious, sophisticated consumers of all ages - people who love a sense of discovery and want to have fun.

Will you be doing strictly pop-ups, or will you be selling online?

For the moment, the events will be in person. Again, creating a community and providing an experience that is unique and special.

How do you choose your partners? Can you tell me a little about your partners today?

I enjoy discovering the undiscovered. Once an event theme is chosen we will look for the unique and undiscovered of that theme. The focus for this weekend’s event however is Ashley Longshore. It’s the world of Ashley. Her works are mixed in with Lingua Franca who worked with Ashley to embroider her catch phrases on their sweaters and travel pouches. We are also showcasing items from a home and body goods brand called Sage & Salt that Ashley introduced me to. It’s about self-empowerment and good energy.

How would you like to see LTD grow? Where do you see it in five years?

I’m a big believer in growing organically. I love the art of the find… and being able to share amazing products and services with others is incredibly rewarding. There are so many talented and creative people looking to share their products and ideas and that’s what makes the future so exciting."

At 86, Regis Philbin is still the life of the party

"Although he’s been off the radar of late, Regis Philbin, 86, is “the most spry he’s been in a while,” said a source who spotted him on a double date.

We’re told the TV vet was the “life of the party” at “Table 1” at Fresco by Scotto Tuesday night.

“He had a pep in his step,” the spy said. “He was cracking old jokes and had a lot of energy.”

He even gave his opinion on Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest — hosts of “Live!” in which he starred with Kathie Lee Gifford and later Ripa.

“He said they have great chemistry,” the source related.

Philbin and wife, Joy. were on a double date with Henry and Peggy Schleiff.

Members of the famed Scotto family popped over to gab.

We hear Philbin’s been splitting time between NYC and LA. Meanwhile, Ripa was spotted at a Bridgehampton launch of LTD by Lizzie Tisch — along with guests including Sarah Jessica Parker, Jane Krakowski, Joseph Altuzarra, Alina Cho, Robert Verdi and Cinema Society whiz Andrew Saffir.

The work of pop artist Ashley Longshore was shown at the event, including larger-than-life pearls, lollipops and lipsticks."

A Tisch-ket a Tashket

Weekends out East are groaning with events—charitable ones, artistic ones, family-oriented ones. So, it’s always a compelling invite when especially charming hosts offer all three.

This past weekend, Lizzie Tisch, founder of LTD, an experiential style venture that focuses on designer collaborations, welcomed friends to a fabulous fest, beginning with a dinner at her glam Bridgehampton digs. Pals including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa and Jane Krakowski tucked into her terrace to dine and view the eclectic mix of carefully edited, often exclusive wearables and art pieces.

The guest of honor was Ashley Longshore, the designer behind the new Bergdorf’s café. The artist is known for her clever and risqué art pieces that spout such pearls as “You don’t look fat-you look crazy” (also the title of her book), ‘There is no crying at Bergdorf Goodman,” “Eat the cake and button your pants under your belly like a real woman!” and “Do not overdose, do not overstay your welcome, do not ovulate”—all overlaid on images of Abe, Winston, Freida, Anna and so on. The Times called her a ‘glittery, bawdy feminist’ who has mastered marketing on Instagram.

Her pieces lit up the property and made us smile and fist pump. There were other unique offerings, like Rachelle MacPherson’s Lingua Francas cashmere sweaters with yet more messages like “Everyday I’m hustlin’.”

I wasn’t the only parent to earn points by bringing my daughter to an event that she deemed hip. Fiona Rudin was there with son Nick, Laura Slatkin with Ali, and Robin Meltzer with Lizzie Meltzer Fine. And making all other husbands look bad, Jonathan Tisch was there, guiding us—”Sweaters this way, rosé there and waffles around the corner.”

Also milling, sipping and shopping: Cornelia Erklentz, Joseph Altuzarra, David Monn and Robert Verdi. The event benefitted The Retreat, which provides domestic violence and sexual assault services on Long Island.

Next up, travels with Lizzie—ideas, services and products to accompany you on your travels. Tally ho.

KIt Keenan launched her fashion line at the surf Lodge Plus Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Rowley, and Don Lemon partied in the Hamptons this weekend.

Maybe it was the stifling temperatures in the city, but New Yorkers decided to make this past weekend a splashy one all along Long Island's South Fork, from the Hamptons all the way to Montauk. In Bridgehampton on Friday night, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa and Jane Krakowksi were among the well known names at Jonatham and Lizzie Tisch's home in Bridgehampton to launch the T&C contributor's new venture, LTD. At the Parrish Museum's annnual Midsummer Party in Water Mill on Saturday, art world machers like Robert Wilson and Chat Leat mingled with newcomers like collector Michael Xufu Huang and socialite Larry Milstein. Theirs was a very different crowd from the party at the Surf Lodge to kick-off Kit Keenan's new fashion line off street wear staples, KIT, which happens to ber her name but also a shorthand Montauk visitors would be well advised to remember: Keep it Together.
