KIt Keenan launched her fashion line at the surf Lodge Plus Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Rowley, and Don Lemon partied in the Hamptons this weekend.

Maybe it was the stifling temperatures in the city, but New Yorkers decided to make this past weekend a splashy one all along Long Island's South Fork, from the Hamptons all the way to Montauk. In Bridgehampton on Friday night, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa and Jane Krakowksi were among the well known names at Jonatham and Lizzie Tisch's home in Bridgehampton to launch the T&C contributor's new venture, LTD. At the Parrish Museum's annnual Midsummer Party in Water Mill on Saturday, art world machers like Robert Wilson and Chat Leat mingled with newcomers like collector Michael Xufu Huang and socialite Larry Milstein. Theirs was a very different crowd from the party at the Surf Lodge to kick-off Kit Keenan's new fashion line off street wear staples, KIT, which happens to ber her name but also a shorthand Montauk visitors would be well advised to remember: Keep it Together.

Lizzie Tisch Hosts an Art-Filled Summer Soiree in the Hamptons

"Summer weekends in the Hamptons are sacred, and entertaining at home is an elegant and artful alternative to the raucous scene. Taking this approach on Friday evening was hostess Lizzie Tisch, who welcomed an art-centric group to her Bridgehampton home to toast artist Ashley Longshore. Tisch, resplendent in a multicolored frock, greeted guests including Kelly Ripa and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Longshore held court in a custom-made Dapper Dan for Gucci suit punctuated by blingy rings, and chatted with Flour Shop’s Amirah Kassem, Andrew Saffir and Daniel Benedict, and Jane Krakowski. As the sun set on the sequined furniture, the time-out chair, and the Cartier Love bracelet hula hoop (all pieces for sale by Longshore as part of Tisch’s LTD by Lizzie Tisch venture), it was time for others, including Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos—in town as guests of Alina Cho—to take their seats for an intimate and elegant dinner."

Kelly Ripa and Sarah Jessica Parker Toast the fabulous Art of Ashley Longshore Out East

"The chic and cheeky Ashley Longshore has taken the fashion world by storm. After conquering Fifth Avenue (and creating the most Insta-worthy cafe in NYC), the artist has set her colorful sights on - where else? - The Hamptons.

This weekend, Lizzie Tisch teamed up with Longshore for a two-day bash launching LTD, Tisch's new experiential style venture which will see limited edition collabs with artists and designers.

The expansive gardens of a private estate in Water Mill were turned into an Alice In Wonderland-esque maze of hedges and paintings, dotted with whimsical touches all around. (Pretty much what we'd imagine living in a Longshore piece is like.) On Friday, the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa, and Jane Krakowski stopped by for an exclusive dinner and VIP preview of the installation, which, on Saturday, featured a curated selection of shoppable must-haves from Blushington, Lingua Franca, and more. No wonder such a well-heeled crowd came out to celebrate!

Lizzie Tisch Unveils Style Venture

"Lizzie Tisch has a new project up her sleeve.

She has launched LTD by Lizzie Tisch, an experiential style venture that will focus on exclusive, limited-edition designer collaborations. The venture will be introduced with an outdoor event in Bridgehampton, N.Y., on July 14 and 15, for which LTD has chosen a selection of pop artist Ashley Longshore’s works that will be sold alongside a collection of Tisch’s summer “must-haves.”

Longshore’s offerings will be made up of 40 to 50 pieces in a variety of sizes and mediums including paintings, sculptures and furniture. Other featured items will include custom cashmere sweaters by Rachelle Hruska MacPherson’s Lingua Franca line bearing Longshore’s punny phrases. The event will also include home and body goods from Sage & Salt.

“Over the course of my 24-year career, I’ve been very particular about who I collaborate with. I’ve met a lot of people in my life and very few who have the good energy, positive vibes and zest for life that Lizzie has,” said Longshore, who is based in New Orleans and is well-known for her pop feminism work.

She said after Suite 1521 she was eager to get back into business.

“I think it’s a long time coming in terms of this concept. It’s really a passion of mine, but in bringing the brands together, putting them in unique locations, making the shopping experience not just a sense of discovery but a sense of fun. It think that’s what’s missing at this moment. And I think there’s so many people doing interesting things, you can put them together in a way they might not have done that before. That’s what I’m hoping to provide.” She’s planning on using a variety of spaces.

One thing she learned from her experiences is that people want things to go. “They don’t want to wait. People do not have a lot of patience anymore. Instant gratification. You don’t just want to wear it tonight, you want to read it right now, you want to eat it right now. To me, that is more of the concept. Everything is to go,” she said.

To attend, people can RSVP to rsvp@ltdxlizzietisch.com. The event will take place July 14 from noon to 5 p.m. and July 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tisch was the cofounder of Suite 1521, a membership shopping destination. In August, she and her partner Kim Kassel said they would wind down the business after a four-year run. The company hosted members-only trunk shows.

Describing the venture, Tisch said, “It combines all the elements of what makes shopping fun — people, places and things. What I learned from Suite 1521 is people don’t just want to buy something, they really want to have a sense of community. They want a joint experience. They like the sense of gathering. While online shopping can certainly be convenient, it’s very transactional. The consumer is curious and sophisticated, and what they’re really craving is a sense of community, and sure, if you throw something in to buy that’s great, too.”

“The idea of coming together and making it a social event is really my idea. It’s a platform to create these beautifully executed events in a variety of spaces. It’s not just a stagnant place,” said Tisch. She said her goal is to infuse shopping with excitement and a sense of discovery by offering limited-edition and exclusive product.

A portion of sales proceeds will go to The Retreat, which provides domestic violence and sexual assault services on Eastern Long Island.

Tisch said she plans to host several of these events a year. “I envision this being themed events. What I like about this concept is that it’s not just ready-to-wear. It really touches everything, the world of art, beauty and design. My next idea that I plan for the fall will have a travel theme. I’m looking to present it in a way not seen before. It’s not just going to be actual objects, but access to services one would want for their travel,” she said.

Tisch said she is throwing herself into this as a full-time business. “I’ve discovered the thing about myself is I don’t do well with idle hands. Freedom is not my friend. This is absolutely a full-time business. I don’t know how to work another way.”

Jonathan and Lizzie Tisch Donate $10 Million to Met's Costume Institute

The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is ready for a major makeover. The museum announced Tuesday that philanthropists Jonathan and Lizzie Tisch have donated $10 million to the institute, which will allow the museum to renovate its costume-related galleries. A new 4,200-square-foot wing will be named after the institute's benefactors: the Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch Gallery.

The money couldn't have come at a better time. In 2009 the Met acquired the Brooklyn Museum's renowned costume holdings -- an extensive collection that was the result of over a century of collected and that included 23,500 objects. The Tisches' gift, in addition to sprucing up the exhibition space, will also go to renovating the museum's study collection and conservation center to help house its newly expanded collection (which now comprises some 35,000 pieces). And with more museums embracing fashion as art, the Costume Institute's exhibitions have gotten grander and grander each year -- now that the Met has an even more extensive collection, expect its main exhibitions to go up in scale and scope.
